Desari leads her clients through the distractions and governmental tape to develop effective and winning strategies. She designs and executes game-changing public policy, regulatory, and outreach campaigns for public and private initiatives that change minds and create action.
Desari has assisted public institutions, nonprofits and corporations in navigating communications obstacles and helping them emerge stronger, aligning communication strategy with business goals. Whether in communications, public policy challenges, or business development and government procurement, her proactive and knowledgeable approach allows clients to drive the narrative and achieve success. Desari also serves as an advisor to investors and corporations, helping them anticipate and mitigate political and regulatory impacts to their businesses and investments.
Desari is a NIKE veteran, where she served in many brand management positions including the original Women’s Marketing Team that propelled the brand into the business of women and girls. Desari’s last position at NIKE before being recruited away to RYKA a women’s footwear brand as Vice-President of Marketing and Sales was Brand Manger of Athlete Relations. At NIKE, she successfully managed high-stakes negotiations and brand plans for some of NIKE’s top brand athletes like A-Rod and Mia Hamm. In addition to extensive brand building experience, Desari developed her manufacturing expertise while spending time in NIKE regions of Europe and Asia Pacific as brand manager. NIKE runs in My Family is not only her tagline, at the age of seven she posed in NIKE’s first poster. Desari attended the American School of The Hague Middle School and High School in the Netherlands, while her mother was opening NIKE’s first European HQ.
Departing the family business of running shoes and sports, Desari took her private sector experience and embarked on a career in government and public policy. Desari has served in some public policy capacity at the state, federal, congressional and county level over the last 18 years. She was elected to the Washington County Board of Commissioners, where she served her last year of a four-year term as Vice-Chair.
Desari began her political career working for His Holiness the 14th Dali Lama and NW Tibetan Cultural Association advocating for more balanced and effective US/China policies.
A fifth-generation Oregonian, Desari has spent the last seven years splitting her time between Washington D.C. and her home she shares with her daughter Gabriella in NW Washington County.
